Terms of Use
Last updated October 30, 2026 · Draft
These terms cover your use of the noroom app and website (together, “noroom”). By using noroom you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use noroom.
Who can use noroom
You must be 18 or older. By using noroom you confirm that you are.
How noroom works
noroom gives you temporary chat rooms. There are no accounts: your device gets an anonymous identity the first time you open the app. Rooms are joined with an invite link, and anyone who has the link can read the room. Messages, nicknames and room names are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers, and rooms are deleted when their timer runs out or when the owner burns them.
Because the link is the key, you are responsible for who you share it with. If you lose your device or reinstall the app, you may lose access to your rooms and to purchases tied to your previous identity (membership can be restored from the App Store).
What you can’t do
- Share sexual content involving minors, in any form. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement.
- Harass, threaten, bully or dox anyone, or share someone’s intimate images without their consent.
- Promote violence, terrorism or self-harm, or post hate speech.
- Break the law, infringe others’ rights, spam, or sell illegal goods or services.
- Interfere with noroom: attacking or overloading it, getting around its limits, or accessing rooms you weren’t invited to.
Room owners can remove members, anyone can block or report, and we can suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules.
Your content
What you write stays yours. We can’t read it, because it’s encrypted on your device. When you report someone, you choose messages to send us in readable form so we can review them; see the Privacy Policy.
Room passes and membership
Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. A room pass is a one-time purchase for one room. Membership is a subscription that renews automatically each month until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before it renews. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Prices may change; we’ll show the current price before you buy.
Rooms disappear
noroom is built to delete things. We don’t keep copies of your rooms for you, and we can’t recover a room once it has expired or been burned. Don’t use noroom for anything you need to keep.
No warranty
noroom is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure against every threat, or that others won’t keep what you send them (for example, by taking screenshots).
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, noroom and its operator aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other users do. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we’ll say so in the app or on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use noroom after that means you accept the new terms.
